who we are
1meter50 is a full-service arts consultancy providing advisory, development, curation, strategic planning, and direction for art fairs, special events, public and corporate projects, exhibitions, private collections and multimedia installations.
The company was founded in 2019 by Grela Orihuela.
Projects:
Curation of the seminal December Miami Art Week events at the Sagamore Hotel. The art exhibits, titled Everyone Has a Story to Tell! and The Gaze were exclusively focused on more than 30 Miami artists featuring over 150 works, with a portion of the proceeds of sales benefitting local Miami art programs.
In keeping with supporting the local creative community, the opening night event AFFM [Art, Fashion, Food, Music] featured a fashion show by local Miami designer Pangea Kali Virga who launched her sustainable line of ready to wear and couture. The hotel hosted the return of the iconic Sagamore Brunch, produced in a manner to respect social distancing rules. Design workshops and art talks were also part of the art programming which ran from December 2021-March 2022.
1meter50 Pop-Up Production secured temporary pop-up spaces for art and design galleries for their optimum dates, negotiation of terms, production of opening night cocktail events (securing F&B, assist with guest list), receipt and installation of the art work for the opening exhibit (subsequent exhibits if applicable are negotiated separately) in Miami, NY and beyond.
1meter50’s inaugural consultancy and production project was the 2019 mounting of New York City’s legendary Winter Antiques Show, rebranded as The Winter Show, at the Park Avenue Armory, which introduced new dimensions of global contemporary art and broadened its demographic of international collectors. This 65th anniversary edition was the most successful production cycle in the prestigious fair’s history. 1m50 returned for the 2020 edition of The Winter Show featuring Unrivaled a loan exhibition from The Hispanic Society Museum & Library co-curated by Peter Marino and Philippe De Montebello.
Other clients include The Association of Museum Curators (AAMC) and their members.
1meter50 is the producer of PLACE Project Group, which created a site-specific art and design experience - PLACE Miami which had its debut in Summer 2020 in the Miami Design District.
